Welcome! I’m a North Carolina-based freelance writer and copy editor, and this site represents my ongoing effort to organize and display my work.

I contribute to a range of publications, primarily mainstream magazines and community newspapers. In a given month I might interview a Grammy Award winner, a professional truck driver, an Olympic champion and a wannabe expatriate. I thrive on variety, so I love freelancing.

I’m an unabashed nerd about all things words and I agree with Warren Beatty: “You’ve achieved success in your field when you don’t know whether what you’re doing is work or play.”

Indeed, much of my spare time is also spent working with words. I proofread friends’ resumes, critique their cover letters and settle their grammar disputes. I design marketing materials for our family’s real-estate development business. I write letters to companies I admire — or otherwise. I maintain a personal blog.
